Belize is a democratic, English speaking nation, once known as British Honduras. The weather is mild, the beaches are beautiful, and the history is rich, Belize is a land of swaying palm trees and colorful sunsets.
Belize, a quiet, peaceful democratic country of approximately 250,000 people, is located in Central America on the Caribbean Sea, and bordered by Mexico. The climate is tropical with a rainy season from May to November with a dry season from February to May. While English is the official language, also Spanish, Mayan, Garifuna and Creole are spoken surrounded by a relaxed Caribbean lifestyle.
It is worth noting that The National Association of Realtors® USA announced a joint reciprocal relationship with the Belize National Association of Realtors®, the leading organization of real estate professionals in Belize. The partnership recognizes the growing importance of the Belize economy, both in the Central American region and as a magnet for international investors.
With one foot planted in the Central American jungles and the other dipped in the Caribbean Sea, Belize blends the best of both worlds. Offshore, kayakers glide from one sandy, palm-dotted islet to another, while snorkelers swim through translucent seas, gazing at a kaleidoscope of coral, fish, dolphins and turtles.
Inland, explorers investigate ruins of ancient civilizations, and birders aim their binoculars at some 570 species. Between national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and marine reserves, more than 40% of the country’s area is protected in one form or another, creating a haven for countless creatures of land, sea and sky.
Tourism is the country’s top source of employment and investment.
